Sathvik Prasad is a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Department at North Carolina State University and a member of the Wolfpack Security and Privacy Research (WSPR) Lab. Previously, Sathvik developed and troubleshot VoIP systems at Cisco.
Sathvik’s research interests span the area of system security and privacy, with an emphasis on developing and applying data-driven techniques to study spam, abuse and fraud. His current work concentrates on developing techniques to detect and characterize robocalls. Research conducted by Sathvik using a honeypot and a language-agnostic method of characterizing robocalls won the 2020 First Place Internet Defense Prize and a Distinguished Paper Award.
