The Communications Risk Show is our interview and discussion program, freely available to watch on this website, without any registration. The three presenters, tech industry analyst Ed Finegold, senior telecoms risk manager Lee Scargall and Commsrisk Editor Eric Priezkalns, will talk about topical news and important themes with guests from around the world. You can join us for the live weekly stream, where you have the opportunity to put your questions to the experts, or watch the recording of each program at your convenience.

Live broadcasts are scheduled every Wednesday from March 15 to June 7, at 4pm UK time, with recordings added to the archive on this site soon after. Subscribe to our broadcast calendar to ensure the details of every episode are added to your diary automatically.

Episode 1 – 15 March 2023

The first episode in the new series of The Communications Risk Show features three guests who will discuss real-life examples of corruption affecting the electronic communications industry and what should be done to tackle it. They are: American journalist Sydney Freedberg, Chief Reporter at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ); veteran British fraud investigator David Morrow; and Kenyan business advisor Joseph Nderitu, who will speak about his first-hand experience as a victim of government corruption.

Topical news items will also be debated by the show’s three regular presenters, industry analyst Ed Finegold, senior risk executive Lee Scargall, and the Editor of Commsrisk, Eric Priezkalns.

Episode 2 – 22 March 2023

The conflict in Ukraine has seen mobile phone locations used to identify targets for missile attacks, pleas for satellite dishes from Elon Musk’s Starlink to keep the Ukrainian government connected, rogue operators springing up in occupied areas and the Russian Army relying on simboxes for communication. Expert insight into the security implications for comms providers will be provided by Cathal Mc Daid, CTO at Enea AdaptiveMobile Security.
